Analysis of environmental risks during the construction of the new Silk Road
Abstract
Purpose – show the relevance and necessity of environmental policy along the construction of the economic belt of the New Silk Road. Research meets the priorities of scientific, technical and social development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Methodology – analysis of reasons and consequences of a current problem, systematic, statistical, computational and analytical methods, method of monitoring economic and statistical analysis,groupings, comparisons and expert assessments. In addition to the traditional methods of scientific research, SWOT analysis, the scenario method was applied.
Originality/value – consideration of the concepts of «environmental policy», «environmental risk», «intercountry cooperation», «environmental problems», «water crisis», «sustainable development»,«environmental economics», «green economy», «innovative economy», as trends in economic science of Kazakhstan, that contribute to the well-being of the population, improve international cooperation and integration of Kazakhstan into the world economic space.
Conclusions – taking into account the growth of environmental risks along the New Silk Road, which can take the nature of the ecological crisis, the need to introduce environmental policy, that is, the need to direct joint activities in accordance with environmental standards to maintain the ecological balance and sustainable development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To minimize environmental risks along the New Silk Road, it is necessary to implement the main directions of environmental policy. The main directions of environmental policy should be formed with the participation of all nature users, in this case the countries participating in the New Silk Road construction project or environmental policy actors. Environmental policy along the New Silk Road should be linked to the specific economic, social, political and cultural development of the project itself and its initiators.
