DEVELOPMENT OF MILITARY-ECONOMIC SUPPORT SYSTEM OF THE STATE DEFENSE

The purpose of the research. Is to determine the basic trends in improvement of efficiency of the system of military and economic support for national defense to enhance national security in modern conditions based on the study and analysis of world experience in development of the system of military and economic support for national defense.
Methodology. General and specific methods and ways of economic research were used in the process of studying the systems of military and economic support for national defense: analysis and synthesis, comparisons and generalizations, systematic approach.
Originality / value of research. It was determined that the multidimensional system approach should be the basis of an effective system of military and economic support for national defense that allows to diagnose the level of military and economic support for defense, identify development trends and offer economically sound management solutions in this area.
Findings. Measures to improve efficiency of military and economic support for national defense system development were proposed; the necessity of optimizing the system of military and economic support for national defense was justified in conditions of limited resources allocated by the state for this purpose. Limited financial, material and human resources involved in the system of military and economic support for national defense require optimization of their distribution and use, taking into account new conditions of the internal and external environment of the national state (peacetime, the period of escalation of military tension and preparations, large-scale or regional war, local military or armed conflict).
Conclusion. Analysis of the main trends in modern economic thought shows that the most correct economic and theoretical approach to the study of conceptual foundations of the system of military and economic support for national defense is institutionalism.
